After being pushed around, threatened and more by "A," Emily is at a breaking point and her friends know that something drastic has to be done to save her. The team's next case could get too close to home for Lieutenant Tao because the boy who is missing goes to the camp where the lieutenant's son works during the summer.

The team snoop into the death of a minister, but their investigation is jeopardized by the victim's own shady secrets and his family's efforts to protect his name and their church. Meanwhile, all but one member of the unit receive a civil-suit subpoena as suspicions and tensions begin to grow within the squad.The family of a prominent minister could find itself in big trouble while also trying to protect the church, as the squad looks into the crime. Major crimes could find itself in an interesting situation after someone doesn't get a subpoena, leaving everyone on the squad wondering who and why that person didn't get the subpoena to question what might happen next. Brenda springs into investigative action when a body is found at a home-construction site. Meanwhile, Brenda considers turning to a lawyer, but the pricey retainer fee means Fritz will likely have to sacrifice certain luxuries.

Brenda's team looks into whether an officer had anything to do with her daughter's death, as the audit into the lawsuit against Brenda continues Captain Raydor looks into whether detective Sanchez can provide anything else about the death of Turell Baylor, The team investigates the puzzling death of a fellow officer's daughter. Elsewhere, Capt. Raydor advances in her meticulous audit of Brenda's unit and begins to sharpen focus on Det. Sanchez.

Aided by her wayward black-sheep brother-in-law Andy, she struggles to keep her new means of bill-solving secret from her suspicious PTA members and nosy neighbor as well as from her children, Shane and his teenage brother Silas. As the plot continues she struggles to protect the ones she loves.

Prev Story: Nancy tries to establish a life in New York City and is surprised by the unannounced arrival of Andy and Shane. Meanwhile, Silas begins doing modeling work, and Doug tries to track down an old friend. Nancy tries to adjust to life in New York City and gets a surprise when Andy and Shane, whom she thought were in Copenhagen, unexpectedly show up at her door. Elsewhere, Silas attempts to land a job as a model, and Doug pays a visit to an old friend.

While Nancy is having trouble fitting in at the halfway house, her sister Jill gives her some unexpected news. Meanwhile, Andy and Shane find a place to live in New York City, while Silas books his first modeling job, and Doug is offered a job. Nancy has problems adapting to life and her fellow felons at the halfway house, and her sister Jill (Jennifer Jason Leigh) doesn't help matters when she springs a sudden surprise on her. Meanwhile, Andy and Shane find a place to crash Silas scores gainful employment as a model and Doug is offered a dream job on Wall Street. Nancy attempts to land a job at Doug's new office, while Shane sets up their new house without the help of an overwhelmed Andy.

Silas and Nancy's lawyer assist her in getting to California as her custody battle with Jill (Jennifer Jason Leigh) heats up. Meanwhile, Andy's relationship takes an intriguing turn; Shane decides to give it the old college try and enrolls in classes and Doug is left to fend for himself at his job on Wall Street. Nancy has a run-in with an old acquaintance and Silas gets caught in the crossfire, Andy engages in a new business enterprise that requires Doug and Shane's assistance. Nancy's attempt to rekindle her business with Heylia doesn't go well. In the meantime, Andy introduces a new idea of venture to Shane and Doug.

Now story: While Doug plays softball with the company team, Nancy deals pot on the sidelines, Andy opens his bike shop while Silas sells pot out of the back room and a police detective offers Shane an internship. Nancy uses Doug's softball game with the company team to sell weed on the sidelines. In the meantime, Andy and Silas open their bike and weed shop.
